Compressing images for the web
IMPORTANT:
Please rezise and compress your images BEFORE uploading them to your FileStore - it will save your visitors time when opening your pages and will save you money by using less bandwith when the image is viewed.
This tutorials assumes you have successfully installed and registered you FREE copy of Photo Plus 5.5. To resize an image start PP5.5 and follow the instruction provided below:
Step 1:
Open
the image you want to compress
Step 2:
Click on
'File'
and select
'Export Optimizer'
Step 3:
From the
'Format'
drop down select JPG for pictures or GIF for small graphics.
Change the
'Quality'
cursor until the image size is a maximum of 30Kb by maintaining a fairly good image quality and click on the
'Export'
button.
Step 4:
Save
your image. Now its ready for upload to your folder in
FileStore
